Band Crush Monday: Avenged Sevenfold

With Metal Hammer‘s announcement of a tribute to Avenged Sevenfold, entitled Hail to the Kings, and the fact that front man M. Shadows is in the new Ghost video, I decided to post a blog about the band that stole my heart in 2005.

My introduction to Avenged Sevenfold came during a difficult time in my life. At seventeen, I lost my boyfriend. I had some really great people helping me get through it, and one of those individuals played me Waking the Fallen. I was immediately in love. Over the years, I have met some of my best friends through a shared love of these guys.

So, in honor of my forever band crush, here are some photos of and my favorite videos from Avenged Sevenfold.

“Bat Country”

“Afterlife”

“Unholy Confessions”

“Hail to the King”

“Save Me”

“Exist”

Avenged Sevenfold to Release New Album…Tomorrow

I’m not going to write some long-winded announcement about this, but it was confirmed today that Avenged Sevenfold’s new album, entitled The Stage, will hit stores tomorrow (October 28th). This is a rather abrupt change, considering I had read that the record wouldn’t be out until early December.

Tonight, Avenged will be streaming live from Hollywood. You can watch it here, or via VRTGO or on Avenged’s official website.

New Music: Avenged Sevenfold’s “The Stage”

Well, this has been a great week! Alter Bridge dropped their latest album, The Last Hero, this past Friday and now, six days later, Avenged Sevenfold’s new single has been released.

As I’m sure many of you know, it has been a hectic three years for Avenged. Following the release of Hail to the King, they did a lot of touring, then there were legal issues with their record label and the band parted ways with drummer Arin Ilejay.

Now, however, they are back! With former Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman taking over for Arin, and the legal troubles seemingly settled, Avenged Sevenfold can give us what they’ve been working on.

I have only listened to “The Stage” once. My initial response is that the track is brilliant musically, but I’m not crazy about Matt’s vocals. I’m sure it will grow on me, though. Stuff from Avenged usually does. Lol.

Check it out and let me know what you think!
