In early 2013, I saw Almost Kings open for Sevendust. They ended their set with this track and front man Bryan Bozeman dedicated it to the Alabama Crimson Tide, who had defeated Notre Dame in January for the national title. I think it is fitting that this song again be applied to the Tide after their performance on Saturday against Missouri. Congratulations to the 2014 SEC Champions!!!!!
Almost Kings – “Unstoppable,” from the album Filthy Nice (2009).
There are two main reasons this is my choice for song of the week, besides the fact that I just love it and despite the fact that it’s four years old.
First, the Velcro Pygmies were mentioned on “College Gameday” two weeks ago, right before the Alabama/Mississippi State game.
Second, the Iron Bowl was this weekend. The Alabama Crimson Tide brought home the victory, and they are now on their way to the SEC Championship game and potentially, another national title shot. So I thought this track, which is dedicated to the Tide, would be perfect. ❤

I love this song and the video! ❤

In honor of them reaching roughly the halfway point of the Monster Energy Get Loud Tour, I decided I would have a track by Almost Kings as my Song of the Week. That, and because I absolutely love these guys…as if you couldn’t tell.
Almost Kings – “Hand Grenade” (2011).
So if you aren’t familiar with Super bob, you should probably do some research. These guys are flippin’ fantastic! They don’t sound quite like anyone else, which is always good, and they put on an amazing live show. I will be doing a “Bands You Should Know” about them very soon. 🙂
Super bob – “Freak,” from their self-titled album (2011).
I have been listening to this on repeat ever since I decided to learn more about Jude ❤
Jude Buckingham – “My Mind,” from his mix-tape Growing Pains (2012).
Marilyn Manson – “Dope Hat,” from the album Portrait of an American Family (1994).
What’s more appropriate in October than Type O Negative? 🙂
Type O Negative – “Love You to Death,” from the album October Rust (1996).
Cradle of Filth – “Temptation,” from the album Thornography (2006).
