My Favorite Christmas Cover Songs

I’m not a huge fan of Christmas music, but every now and then a rock band takes a Christmas classic and makes it bearable. Lol. So here are my top 5 favorite Christmas covers.

Small Town Titans: “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”

Originally performed by Thurl Ravenscroft

This is the best of the best. His voice, the arrangement, that dirty bass intro… Perfection.

Shinedown: “Happy X-Mas (War Is Over)”

Originally performed by John Lennon

I love this song anyway, but Brent Smith singing can take any song to another level.

Throne of Eden: “Christmas Canon Rock”

Originally performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: “Carol of the Bells”

Original performed by students at Kyiv University in December 1916; music composed by Mykola Leontovych and lyrics written by Peter J. Wilhousky

From Ashes to New: “All I Want for Christmas is You”

Originally performed by Mariah Carey

30 Day Song Challenge: Day 20 – Favorite Song That’s a Cover

Easy peasy.

Mushroomhead: “Crazy” (originally performed by Seal)

Living Dead Girl Shares Visualizer For Their Version of Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter”

Taken from Not That Innocent (The Covers EP), which will be Living Dead Girl’s second release and is now available for preorder! The EP will drop on February 24, 2023.

Covers I Love: “Never Tear Us Apart” (Smith & Myers)

When I saw Smith & Myers back in December 2021, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this INXS cover, but the more I listened to it, the more it grew on me. It is now one of my favorite covers, a track I can never skip anytime it comes on.

New Video Alert! Tommy Vext/The Lone Wolf: “The Hills”

I love the original version of this song anyway, but Tommy’s cover is so good ❤️

This Was Fun! Andre Antunes Does The Beatles in the Style of Muse

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I clicked on this video, but y’all! This is so good! As my mom said, it’s very similar to the original during the verses, yet Andre nailed the prog element that Muse brings to the table – along with the Matt Bellamy-esque vocals. If you love The Beatles or Muse or both, definitely check this out!
